Former Dallas Cowboy and Superbowl MVP Chuck Howley is dedicated to raising foundation bred quarter horses of high quality at his Happy Hollow Ranch. We'd have a hard time operating without these versatile horses. In fact, we have our own broodmare herd which produces our ranch horses, plus top-quality horses that we offer For Sale to our customers.

These days, many Quarter Horses are bred for specific purposes, such as cutting or running. Foundation bred quarter horses are all-around horses for any purpose....roping, working cattle, running, etc. They are generally big, stout, flat boned horses that make excellent ranch horses. They have good cow sense and are a little bigger boned than many of the modern horses.


Our broodmare herd consists of some 50+ mares, and we breed a few outside mares each year. We generally break and start 10 to 15 young horses per year, and offer several outstanding young horses to our customers. Our Stallion Roster includes own sons of Smart Lil Highbrow, Shining Spark, and the bloodlines of today's outstanding working cow horses... Povo Tivio, Rondo Leo, Doc Bar, and Bert.
